Raising funds for The Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer, Scott Parry, manager of Atwell Martin’s Coast and Rural Department once again took part in the annual Drakes Island Swim on Saturday the 15th July. The 1.5km swim from Royal William Yard to Drakes Island and back involves swimming across a stretch of water notorious for its strong currents. Scott says “It was exciting to take part in this swim and observe the local landmark of Drakes Island from this unique perspective whilst raising funds for this excellent local charity based at Derriford Hospital”. His next challenge is the Plymouth Breakwater Swim, a distance of 2.2 miles from the Breakwater back to the Hoe, this event is on 13th August 2017 and once again will be in aid of The Chestnut Appeal.
