Plymouth’s leading waterfront estate agency, Atwell Martin has won the Best Single Office South West Estate Agency 2016 in the national Estate Agency of the Year Awards.
The Estate Agency of the Year Awards is the longest running and most highly regarded awards event in the estate agency industry. Held in association with The Sunday Times & The Times and overseen by the Property Ombudsman, the awards shine a light on those agencies that are the best of the best in the UK.
Andrew Bullivant, Managing Partner at Atwell Martin said, “We were really pleased when we received a Silver Award in the 2015 awards but winning Gold this year means everything to us. It’s recognition from the industry that we’re the best at what we do in our region, and it’s also a well-deserved accolade for our staff members. We pride ourselves on being professional, approachable and having expert local knowledge and we look forward to continuing to bring our award-winning service to the people of Plymouth, West Devon, the South Hams and South East Cornwall.”
The judging of the awards is chaired by The Property Ombudsman and has the backing of the NAEA and NFOPP. The judges assess entrants’ written submissions and questionnaires; each judge then reviews their allocated written submissions and further researches the entrants through a variety of methods. In addition, an independent Mystery Shopping agency is engaged to provide data on entrants in selected categories. All the information comes together when the judges put forward their recommendations and vote to decide on all regional, specialist, individual and overall winners.
The judges said of Atwell Martin, “This agency employs a highly engaged team which takes a discerning approach to stock to make sure that the properties on their books match their skill set and expertise. That they can take this approach but still offer a diverse practice is testimony to their great range of services. They’ve been able to grow the business by reacting swiftly to a challenging marketplace, and the quality of the new instructions reflects their ability. The Partners spend time with the team to explain the changes, and to guide them through objection handling with thorough training. Specialist teams take clients through the moving process and their respective levels of expertise are utilised well. Solicitors are engaged very early on in the process so conveyancing gets off to a flying start and both buyers and vendors are given an impressive level of post-completion contact.
